Today Is Art Day launches a new tabletop game on Kickstarter
QUEBEC CITY, CANADA, July 17, 2018 - Have you ever dreamed of owning a fine art collection with Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa or Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night? Now is your chance! Today marks the launch of The Grand Museum of Art, an all-new board game by Today is Art Day that lets you experience first-hand what it is like to be a world-class museum curator.

The Story
The Museum Director has jumped ship, leaving the museum in the red. It’s up to you and your fellow curators to keep the museum running, present grandiose exhibitions and attract crowds of visitors that will fill the museum coffers and save it from bankruptcy. The best curator will become the new Museum Director!
How to play?
Each curator amasses popularity points by collecting famous artwork and presenting thematic exhibitions. Along the way, players will have to make exchanges, participate at auctions and even steal from fellow curators to gain the most popularity points. In some cases, players will also have to answer trivia questions (serious or silly) in order to get their hands on their precious missing artwork.
What’s inside the box?
There are 65 artwork cards to collect, 20 thematic exhibition cards, a trivia booklet including 130 questions and 4 beautiful game tokens inspired by famous sculptures such as Michelangelo’s David, the Venus de Milo and Rodin’s Thinker. Players will also enjoy a board inspired by a museum map on which they will hop from gallery to gallery.
“Of our five Kickstarter campaigns, this is probably the most exciting one so far,” says David Beaulieu, CEO at Today Is Art Day. “We’ve been working on this game for more than two years now and it has been quite a ride! We wanted to make this game beautiful, fun, challenging and exciting to play. I think we achieved just that. We don’t see many art-related board games on the market so we hope art enthusiasts and board game lovers will support this project!” The Kickstarter campaign runs until August 19th.
